SpaceX is reported to be seeking $40 billion for Nvidia chips

SpaceX is in talks to borrow about $40 billion to buy Nvidia chips, Bloomberg reported, and @MechEconomy carried it on 8 October. The split described is about $10 billion in bank loans and $30 billion in investment-grade debt. Apollo and PIMCO are among those looking. Nothing has been signed.
Elon Musk has already said Colossus was at 230,000 Nvidia chips and Colossus 2 at 550,000. A financing of this size would sit on top of that, not instead of it. The same week, Ray Dalio called AI a classic bubble. A loan discussion and a bubble warning can both be true. Neither is a completed deal.
